Mode of play in the HeadsUp League
Do you want to find out more about the mode of play of the eSport-Poker HeadsUp league? If so, then you are in the right place. Here you can find out how the eSport-Poker HeadsUp league works.
A total of 20 players play against each other in a closed league – the mode of play is: everyone against everyone, for a total of six times a month. Matches will be played on Tuesdays and Thursdays. You can find the exact dates in the league timetable.
After a total of 19 days of playing, the best 8 players of the English eSport-Poker HeadsUp league are sent off to play at European level in the HeadsUp PlayOffs. There, the best 8 players from each of the closed HeadsUp leagues (Germany, England and France) meet to play for the title of best European SinglePlayer.
Just like in the TeamPlay poker league, all interested users are given a chance to play in the closed leagues, by means of an open qualification league in which everyone can take part. There will be a total of seven open leagues in this qualification league, each of which is played over 10 days. Here there are also fixed tournament days, and the pairing of players is randomly determined in the run-up to every matchday.
Apart from the weekly fixtures, in the HeadsUp qualification league you can also play Sit & Go’s. If you can agree to a match with another player, this match is played and the points gained are added to your account. The winner gets three points, and the loser gets one. These points are added to the tables. Direct contests between rivals are also possible! You can use Direct Challenge to challenge any other user in the eSport-Poker league to a HeadsUp duel. Even here, any points you win are added to your HeadsUp account and count for the outcome of the respective open league.
Even the participants in the open leagues are given a chance to enter the grand final – after all, the best amateur players should not be made to wait for a whole season before they can display their skills on the grand stage. Therefore, after all open leagues are over, the best 16 players from all three European open leagues get to play in their own PlayOff round. In order to choose the best 16 players, the best result obtained in an open league by each HeadsUp player is used. The best eight players from this PlayOff round are then sent off to the grand European professional HeadsUp Playoff, where they can fight for the big prize.
Are you interested in the HeadsUp league? You can sign up for just $10 per season. On payment of the participation fee, you are given 20 tickets. You can use these to take part in Sit & Go’s, and once these are used up, you automatically get a new set. In this way you can play for the whole season – and of course without paying an extra penny!
